A Win for Gibeon Warriors
We were blessed with some great Cross Country weather with just a light drizzle during most of our races. Our students took on the 3000m course around the property on Tuesday 27 May to decide the winning house for our Cross Country. It was a very close race between Gibeon Warriors (Red House) and Zion Crusaders (Blue House). The Crusaders were leading until the last race of the day. Warriors dominated the Open Boys and they overtook the Crusaders to win the Cross Country by 16 points.
The course was the same as last year and allows our students to run mainly on the property. This was the first House Carnival this year that participation was in age groups and not year levels. All students started their race on the oval and ran through the teardrop carpark before they exited the small gate at the bus stop, just to turned back to the main entrance. From there the course took them to the border of the property past Oxley Kids before they headed back up Heartbreak Hill towards the finish line on the oval.
