It has been an incredibly busy and exciting time in Grade 5! We are thrilled to officially welcome two wonderful new teachers to our team: Miss Ruzica Bosnjak (5D) and Miss Beth Warne (5A), who have already brought fantastic energy to our cohort. In Inquiry, students have been diving deep into Civics and Citizenship, which was recently brought to life by a special visit from MP Alice Jordan-Baird, who spoke to the students about her role in Parliament and how decisions are made. This connects perfectly to our literacy focus, where students are wrapping up non-fiction text structures to move into summarizing and synthesizing information in Reading, while beginning to craft transactional texts based on local community civic issues in Writing. Finally, in Numeracy, students have been exploring the practical side of geometry by investigating angles and how they are used in everyday life
