Operations

Looking Back at 2023

College Operations is an all-encompassing portfolio that focuses on the sound running of Edgars Creek Secondary College as an organisation. From constructing and maintaining the timetables of over 1,200 students and 100+ teachers, replacing teachers when they are away, and ensuring that the College is meeting its legal and OHS obligations regarding incursions and excursions, the team's work often happens behind the scenes.

I want to take this opportunity to recognise the efforts of the 2023 Operations Team publicly - Shane Edge and Peta Milenkovic - for their outstanding efforts that have contributed to the College operating smoothly amid the many changes and events that have occurred throughout the year.

Following the COVID/lockdown years of 2020-2022, the College has been able to run an outstanding amount of events, ranging across many interests, for our students. These events have provided students with the opportunity to put their learning into action in meaningful and memorable ways.

Semester 2, 2023 Reports

The formal semester reporting for Semester 2, 2023 will be published on Tuesday, December 19th 2023 via Compass.

Data from semester reports is communicated to the Department of Education twice each year. The reports demonstrate your child's performance against the expected level for their age in each subject area.

Further information will be communicated when the semester reports are formally released.

2024 Timetable

The 2024 Timetable will be live to students and families via Compass shortly. Please note that due to ongoing recruitment and other operational matters, the published timetable is subject to change over the holiday period.

Reporting Student Absences

Please continue to report your child's absences on Compass by leaving an attendance note. This ensures that our records are accurate and that any reasons for your child's absence are communicated to the Department of Education at the required periods during the year.

Finally, on a personal note, it has been a pleasure to have worked with many students, staff and families at Edgars Creek Secondary College over my four years here. It has been rewarding and exciting to watch the growth of students and the College since 2020 from a school with just Years 7-9 to now a school that has just graduated its first cohort of Year 12 students. I wish you all the very best in the future.

I hope that every family at the College has a restful break over the summer holiday period.

Kind regards,

Anthony Asta
