Futsal Championship Finals
Year 7 Boys & Girls Futsal
We reflect on an awesome year of Interschool Sports in 2023 that have provided many opportunities for students to cooperatively work together and compete in their respective divisional and regional events.
Futsal Regional Finals
During Term 4, the Year 7 Boys & Girls were given the opportunity to represent Edgars Creek Secondary College at the Futsal Regional Finals at Narrandjeri Stadium on Wednesday 11th October.
The boys were determined and excited to complete together as a team for the first time in competition. Only one game was rescheduled for the day against Diamond Valley Secondary College. The boys fought hard in every play and went on to become the eventually winners, defeating DVSC 12-6.
The girls were in high spirits leading up to the regional tournament but unfortunately for the girls, no other schools were able to show up on the day to complete. However, our Year 7 girls’ team was gifted a pass through to the next round.
Schools Futsal Champions of Champions Tournament
Both teams played on and completed in the ‘Schools Futsal Champions of Champions Tournament at Narrandjeri Stadium on Friday 10th November
Both the boys and girls were excited to represent Edgars Creek SC for a second time and try their best on the field. We knew that the day would be tough, as we were playing against great schools with exceptional ability and skill both on and off the ball. Much to the effort of both teams, we walked away with only 1 win from 9 games.
The results for the Champions of Champions Tournament are as below:
Year 7 Boys
Year 7 Girls
I congratulated both teams on their achievements through hard work, dedication and teamwork. They continued to support each other and maintained a positive outlook throughout the day despite the result.
We look forward to continuing on with our successes both on and off the field for the Interschool Sport program in 2024.
