Student Leaders

Over the holidays Lily and Lizzy completed the Do Food Safely online course successfully working through all modules and passing the assessment. This is the same training all educators undertake to ensure safe food handling practices at OSHC.

Now that they’ve completed the course they have begun assisting in the kitchen, helping to prepare and serve breakfast and afternoon tea. We greatly appreciate their enthusiasm and support.

Child Safety

Child safety is at the heart of everything we do at OSHC and we are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all children in our care. As part of this commitment all educators have now been registered on the National Early Childhood Worker Register. This register provides regulatory authorities with a clear, national overview of who is working in education and care services and where they are employed, helping them to more effectively monitor, identify and respond to potential risks.

We take our responsibility seriously and continue to embed child safe practices into our daily program, policies and interactions. Creating a strong culture of safety means everyone plays a role, educators, families and the wider community.

We encourage all members of our community to remain vigilant and proactive. We encourage everyone in our community to speak up if they see or feel that something isn’t right. Together, we can ensure our service remains a safe place where every child feels protected, respected and valued.

OSHC Menu Planning

We recently connected with the Healthy Eating Advisory Service to explore ways to further strengthen our OSHC menu and were linked with Dell from Better Health Network. Dell, a Health Promotion Officer, has since been working alongside us and has commended our healthy and varied menu.

She is now supporting us to more closely align with the Healthy Eating Advisory Guidelines for OSHC, sharing recipe ideas, practical ways to boost protein in our meals and simple strategies to more actively involve students in the food planning and preparation process.

We look forward to continuing this partnership throughout the term.

A friendly reminder to all parents: please ensure that payment for care services is made within one week of receiving your statement. Timely payments are essential to avoid any disruptions or cancellations to your child’s place in care. If you have any questions or concerns about your payment, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
