Year 7 Volleyball 

The Year 7 Volleyball Competition at MGC was a thrilling display of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. All teams demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill throughout the event. 

 

The A-team had a particularly outstanding performance, securing a well-earned victory in a nail-biting final against Brunswick, winning 2 sets to 0. Their teamwork was impeccable, with standout performances from Paula Graham, Leni Givargis, and Reena Kim, who each made crucial contributions in the win. 

 

A special thank you goes to the student coaches, whose guidance and leadership were integral to the success of the day. Your hard work and commitment were greatly appreciated. 

 

Congratulations to all teams involved for their sportsmanship and effort. You should all be very proud of your achievements! 

Year 7 Tennis

Students from MGC had the incredible opportunity to compete in the Year 7 Tennis Interschool Sport Competition, held at the prestigious Australian Open courts. The A and B competitive teams were fortunate to play on the outdoor show courts, offering an unforgettable experience. 

 

The A Team triumphed in their matches, securing a victory and advancing to the next round of the competition. A huge congratulations to the entire team for their impressive performance and sportsmanship. 

 

Special recognition goes to the following students from the A Team, who will move on to represent MGC in the regional competition: Klara Popovic, Chloe Popovic, Trinity Rodrigues, Francesca Altamura, and Youmaneh Atti Ur Rehman. 

 

Well done to all the teams for showcasing MGC's high standards, both on and off the court. 

Year 7 Cricket Interschool Sport Competition 

We are excited to share the results of the Year 7 Cricket Interschool Sport Competition, where our students participated in a friendly yet competitive event against schools from the Inner North Region. Every student took part with enthusiasm, showing excellent team spirit and sportsmanship throughout the day. 

 

The standout performance came from our A Team, who triumphed over all opponents to secure the top spot. Congratulations to the A Team for their outstanding effort and teamwork! 

 

A special thank you goes out to all the student coaches who were absolutely fantastic on the day. Their leadership and guidance were invaluable in helping the teams perform at their best. 

 

We also want to extend our thanks to all our cricket teams for their participation, effort, and success. Your dedication and sportsmanship were truly commendable, and we are incredibly proud of everything you achieved. 

 

We look forward to even more success in future competitions! 

Year 8 Cricket 

The Year 8 Cricket Team achieved an impressive victory in the division competition, defeating all local schools in their group. Their strong performance throughout the tournament showcased exceptional teamwork, skill, and determination. The team’s dominant play allowed them to qualify for the next round, marking a significant milestone in their journey. Their success reflects their commitment and sets the stage for even greater challenges ahead as they move forward in the competition. 

Year 8 Volleyball 

The Year 8 Volleyball competition saw students from MGC excel in a highly competitive tournament. They dominated the event, defeating all the schools they faced. In addition to their outstanding performances on the court, MGC students were praised by other schools for their leadership, officiating skills, and for fostering a friendly, fun atmosphere throughout the competition. A special thanks goes to the student coaches for their dedication and support in helping the teams succeed. Congratulations to the A Team, who have progressed to the next round! Well done to all participants for their incredible effort and sportsmanship. 

Intermediate Cricket 

The Intermediate Cricket team recently competed in a regional tournament over multiple days, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination. Throughout the competition, the team defeated all their opponents, showcasing consistent performance and teamwork. As a result, they have successfully qualified for the state final. This marks the third consecutive year the girls have earned a spot in the state finals, highlighting their ongoing success and dominance in the sport. 

Intermediate Volleyball 

The Intermediate Girls triumphed in the Division Volleyball competition, which saw over 20 teams from local schools competing in both social and competitive events in the MGC gym. The A-team delivered an exceptional performance throughout the tournament, ultimately qualifying for the next round of competition by defeating Uni High in a thrilling grand final finish.  

Senior Tennis 

Congratulations to the Senior Girls from MGC for their impressive achievement of coming in 2nd place in the Regional Final! Special recognition goes to Martina, Tahlia, Tilly, and Kyla for their outstanding efforts and contributions to the team's success. Their hard work, skill, and dedication were truly commendable, and they made their school proud with this remarkable performance. Well done, everyone!
