Level 3

Literacy
In Writing, we have been exploring poetry and experimenting with word choice to create meaning and imagery. Students have been learning about different poetry forms, including haiku and cinquain. This week, we will be exploring free verse poetry, focusing on using emotive language to express feelings and create vivid images for the reader.
Last week, students loved learning about the human body and its different systems, exploring how they work together to keep us healthy. Students have been researching a chosen body system and building their understanding of its role and function. Students also developed deep questions about the body and its functions. You may want to see if you can discuss and find the answers to any of them that we brainstormed bellow!
Numeracy
In Maths, we have been exploring fractions, focusing on adding fractions with the same denominator to make a whole. Students have been developing their understanding of how fractions can be combined and represented in different ways.
Inquiry
We have been exploring our unit Be Well, Do Well, focusing on the different aspects of leading a healthy life. Over the past two weeks, we have taken a closer look at sleep and stress, learning about why they are important and how they impact our overall health and wellbeing.
We also enjoyed a fun buddy session last week, cooling off in the warm weather with an exciting water team challenge!
