Term 2 - Week 10

Dear Families, 

As we reach the end of Semester 1, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire St John's community for what has been a busy, productive and rewarding first half of the year. This term has been filled with many highlights. We celebrated Catholic Education Week, welcomed families to our Mother's Day High Tea, enjoyed successful Cross Country and sporting events, attended the Year 3/4 Camp and recently engaged our community in important conversations about the future of St John's through our Master Plan consultation process. These experiences remind us that a great school is about so much more than what happens within the four walls of a classroom.

I would like to congratulate Louise Frewen on her appointment as Deputy Principal of St John's. Lou has done an outstanding job in the Acting Deputy Principal role and this appointment is incredibly well deserved. I know our community will join me in congratulating her on this exciting achievement.

I would also like to congratulate Jake and Bella Tunks on the safe arrival of their baby boy Harry who arrived on Tuesday 2nd June. We are thrilled for Jake and Bella as they begin this exciting new chapter and I know our St John's community will join me in wishing them every happiness. We look forward to welcoming Jake back next term and thank Mrs Trudy Kerlin for the wonderful job she has done supporting our Year 6 students during his leave.

Over recent weeks, teachers and support staff have spent countless hours completing assessments and preparing Semester 1 Reports. I would also like to acknowledge the significant work that has gone into our recent NCCD moderation and quality assurance processes. Thank you to Melinda Watson, Fiona Robinson and all staff for their dedication to this important work.

A highlight of the term has been the continued development of our School Master Plan. Thank you to the parents, students and staff who contributed their ideas through surveys and consultation sessions. Your feedback will help shape an exciting vision for the future of St John's School.

Semester 1 Reports

Semester 1 Reports will be released to families via PAM this Thursday 25th June after 3pm. I encourage families to take the time to celebrate the growth, effort and achievements of their children throughout the semester. 

Family Mass - Term 3, Week 1!

As we head into the holiday break, I would like to warmly invite all families to join us for our St John's Family Mass on Saturday 18th July at 6pm. It would be wonderful to see a strong attendance as we come together to celebrate our faith and community.

End of Term Reminder

A reminder that students will finish early this Friday 26th June at 2:15pm as we conclude Term 2.

Finally, thank you to our parents and families for your ongoing support and partnership throughout Semester 1. I wish all students, staff and families a safe, restful and well-deserved holiday break. Whether you are travelling away, spending time with family and friends, watching the footy, catching up on jobs around home or simply enjoying a slower pace for a couple of weeks, I hope the holidays provide an opportunity to rest, recharge and spend quality time together. Travel safely if you are heading away, take care of one another and enjoy the break!!!
