Year 7 Camp

Monday 22 - Wednesday 24 April, 2024

On 22 April 2024, the Year 7s went to camp at the Phillip Island Adventure Resort. All the Year 7s were excited to go to camp, enjoy the activities and make new friends.

It was also an opportunity for teachers to get to know their students better. The Year 7 Camp started in the afternoon. When the Year 7s arrived at the resort, we were given information about the camp and the groups we would be in for activities. There were seven groups and each group would get to do everything in a different order.

The activities available to Dandenong High School students included the Giant Swing, High Ropes, the Flying Fox, Archery, Raft Building and Canoeing. Each activity was guided by a professional staff member to ensure safety. The activities were evenly spread out over the three days.

On the first night of camp, we took a night stroll across the roads to see the beach. It was about a ten-minute walk through the streets. The second night, which was our last night of camp, was movie night. You could bring movie snacks to enjoy while watching the film, which ran for about an hour and a half.

The days passed quickly and soon it was time to leave the resort and head back to school. All the activities the Year 7s did were my favourite highlights. If I had to choose, Raft Building, Canoeing, and the Flying Fox would be at the top of my list.

All the Year 7s enjoyed this experience and thanked the staff members, teachers and organisers for this fantastic trip to Phillip Island.
