ANZAC Assembly

Friday 26 April, 2024

On April 26th, 2024 our school community came together to commemorate ANZAC Day. ANZAC day is a day to honour Australian and New Zealanders who fell victim to the war and to give recognition to the soldiers who fought for the safety of our country. ANZAC Day falls on April 25th which is the anniversary of the day Australian and New Zealand troops arrived at Gallipoli.

Here at Dandenong High School, we hold this day to the utmost importance as we all gather as a community to listen and share the stories of various individuals learning their impact on the world and understanding how we can learn from them. Our student leaders alongside our esteemed guests laid wreaths in the memorial of those who have lost their lives to war. Thank you, to our school captains Andy and Zainab, our principal Mrs Ogden and all other esteemed guests who shared their heartfelt words and messages on that day.

The assembly came to a completion with the recitation of the Last Post and everyone joined for a moment of silence. We want to extend our gratitude to all esteemed guests who were able to join us in this gathering of remembrance and to all students and staff who recognised and respected the significance of the day.
