Callistemon House

Hi, my name is Priya and I’m the student representative for Callistemon. Being part of the Student Representative Council allows me to give myself and other students a voice to enjoy their school years.

I’m looking forward to participating in numerous events and helping to organise them. I’m hoping to make 2024 a wonderful year not only for Year 12 students, but also for the younger year levels, giving them something to look forward to.

The charity that Callistemon is excited to represent is Cancer Council Australia. We are eager to make a donation, no matter how small or large, and we are happy to contribute to the change that Cancer Council Australia strives to bring. We plan to bring awareness to our House charity by putting up informative posters around Callistemon and we also plan to give speeches about our charity to Callistemon students. Every dollar counts!

Another strategy we are implementing to raise donations for Cancer Council Australia is to organise a fun event like Guess the Lollies in the Jar. We plan to include all students in Callistemon, as well as the teachers, to ensure inclusivity. It will be held during Lunch and Recess. We plan to raise money for Cancer Council Australia by charging 50c per guess. Everyone is welcome to put in their guesses and have a chance to win.

Another event that Callistemon is eagerly anticipating is the Athletics Carnival. We want to see every Callistemon student dressed in red to support our House. We also plan to promote Athletics Carnival sign-ups by walking around with a small group and engaging positively with Callistemon students to encourage them to sign up and take part in our Athletics Carnival.
