Student Leaders Corner

Meet your SRC Presidents!

Hey there! My name is Keely and it is an absolute honour to stand before you as SRC President alongside Phoenix. I hope everyone has had a restful break and is ready to make the most of another term.

Being this year’s longest term, we have numerous events to look forward to. The Athletics Carnival is steadily approaching and it is my wish for as many students to participate as possible. At the start of the year, I spoke about ‘saying yes more often’. Alongside Chorales, these inter-house events are a great opportunity to create lasting memories with friends and show off your House's athletic and musical prowess!

On the last week of Term 1, the Year 12 student leaders embarked on a leadership camp in Canberra. This experience was infused with lessons of resilience and influence, which helped us shape our vision for our term in office as leaders. If you would like to read about our journey, feel free to find my reflection attached further in this newsletter.

On a different note, I’d like to encourage students to remember to wear the correct school uniform, as it is a key component of fostering a positive school climate. Please remember to wear the winter uniform with your tie and only wear the PE uniform on the days you have PE.

Oh and one last thing... Make sure to start practising your push-ups because, at the end of the term, our school will be taking part in The PushUp Challenge! The official target is 3,249 push-ups over 24 days, representative of the number of lives lost to suicide in 2022. If that figure seems a bit daunting, don’t worry, as you can set a smaller target and include a variation of different exercises such as sit-ups and squats. More announcements will be made closer to June. For now, try to do a few push-ups whenever you can 💪

That is all from me for now. If you have any questions or simply want to have a chat, please don’t hesitate to approach me in the schoolyard!

Hello, my name is Phoenix and I am excited to be part of the 2024 SRC team. We have a wonderful team of students this year, who I believe share my desire to be a voice for the school community.

The school has several events coming up which I hope you will enjoy. I am particularly looking forward to the Athletics Carnival, which is always a highlight for me. Even if sports aren’t your thing, I encourage you to participate and be part of creating a team atmosphere. It’s all about having healthy fun together.

I’d like to take a moment to remind everyone to support your House charity. You might start to see posters of events the SRC are holding in each House. If you want to know more about which charity your House has chosen to support, please see Keely, the SRC for your year level, or me.
