Parent Ambassadors

As we begin this period of enrolments for 2022 we are looking at ways to 'market' our school. Our best way of advertising has proven to be word of mouth. We can amplify that word of mouth via social media if we can get parents to share with us the reasons why they chose St Mary's as the school for their child. It also helps to have quotes about the things you like about St Mary's. If you are happy to provide a comment that we can use please email the quote to the office: smaadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au

After we receive the quotes we will then add appropriate photos to them before sharing them on social media. Thank you to those parents who have already provided quotes to us or have indicated that they will provide them.

Friendship Seat

Yesterday we received the 2020 Year 6 students gift to the school - a friendship seat that will be located in the paddock. Thank you 2020 Year 6 and your parents for this thoughtful gift that will be put to great use. 

What is a Friendship Seat? 

The original concept for the Friendship Seat started in Britain. The idea is that this very special seat, which is placed within the school grounds, is a place where children who are lonely or sad can sit, in doing so alerting teachers and other pupils that there might be a problem. Children are taught in the school how special the seat is, and to look out for any student who is on it. It is hoped that children will approach the seat, and invite whoever is on it to play with them, or simply check if they are okay. The seat can be a key beginning to promoting friendship and kindness in youngsters and help build a sense of community.
