Year 7

As we wrap up the first term of students experience at Wyndham Central College, I want to take a moment to congratulate all of our year 7 students for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding efforts. The first term has been full of exciting opportunities, challenges, and personal growth, and I couldn’t be prouder of how everyone has embraced the journey.

From the classroom to extracurricular activities, our students have shown incredible commitment and perseverance. Whether it’s excelling in academic pursuits, participating in sports teams, or getting involved in break time clubs and leadership activities, it’s clear that our school community is thriving.

Many of our students have achieved academic excellence, demonstrating determination and focus in their studies. The hard work put into classwork, assessments (including the recent NAPLAN testing) is truly commendable, and we look forward to seeing even more growth in the coming terms.

Our students have given their best in interschool sports competitions, and our break time clubs have been buzzing with energy.

A reminder that when communicating with the college, your child’s tutor teacher is the first contact who will then be able to refer you to the correct staff member if they are unable to assist. I hope that your child’s tutor teacher is familiar to you now and you have established a great working relationship to benefit your child.

I hope that students have a well-deserved rest when the holidays come and return ready to continue their learning journey in term 2.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7

Our Year 7s have shown lots of resilience and been able to celebrate with lots of questions, colours and fun during term one.

Our students enjoyed Eastern Beach and got to see things and experience challenging walks.

The Year 7's got a taste of what being a Hindi Beacon School is all about. They had the opportunity to celebrate Holi - The Festival of Colours. There were so many smiles shining through the colourful powders. A huge thank you to Ms Sharma and her team for providing this amazing experience for our Year 7s.This week, we had an Alumni visit from three past students.

  • Ravneet Kaur, Class of 2022 – who is studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, Tutor at Wyndham Central College and Zone Manager at MECCA
  • Manu Malempati Class of 2024 - who is studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in computing and software systems at the University of Melbourne (WCC DUX 2024)
  • Kelly Cruse Class of 2010 - Detective at Victoria Police

The students had thought provoking questions. I would like to thank these amazing alumni for taking time our of their busy schedules to support our Year 7's. I would also like to thank Jaimee Kindt our Alumni coordinator.

This term we have had Tutor Challenges such as Tunnel Ball, building class letters as a tutor group and last week our Year 7 classes worked on building a class paper chain with positive affirmations written on each link. It was great to see the students working together, strategising and writing loving comments to others. We measured the chains that they circled the Soccer Pitch. Congratulations to the students amazing work!

Our students have completed NAPLAN. I would like to commend all the students who sat NAPLAN as when times got tough, they kept going. A big thank you to all the staff that supported the NAPLAN this year.
