Hindi Beacon School

Hindi has started with full swing and action at WCC.

As a Hindi Beacon School we celebrated Holi on Friday 14th March. All our staff and students celebrated the festival with great zeal.

Holi, the festival of colours, is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India and around the world. It marks the triumph of good over evil. Holi is a time to forget past grievances, come together with family and friends, and celebrate with music, dancing, and, of course, colours.

All our Yr-7 students participated in a colour run and celebrated the togetherness, inclusivity and their friendships in an organised and cultured way.

This event was honoured by two very special guests Dr. Sushil Kumar-Consul General of India and Mr. John Lister- Member of Parliament who also participated in colour run with our students with great enthusiasm and joy.

We all came together to celebrate both the language and the festival in a special way. From Hindi recitations to group dance performances inspired by Holi, our students participated in a variety of activities that highlight the beauty of the Indian culture. The combination of language and festival helps reinforce the values of unity, respect, and pride in our community.

As we enjoy the colourful festivities as part of our Hindi School program, let us remember that these celebrations are not just about fun and play—they are also an opportunity to use the language and culture outside the classroom and emphasises the importance of ‘Learning by Doing’. It is about reflecting on our values to strengthen the bonds of friendship and community building and spreading joy and brightness of vibrant colours in everybody’s lives around us.

The Beauty of Hindi Language

It unites millions of people and connects us to a rich tradition of literature, art, and culture. At our school, we take great pride in nurturing the beauty of the Hindi language through various activities, from reading Hindi poems and stories to organizing competitions that encourage students to express their creativity. Our teachers continue to inspire students to embrace Hindi, not just as a subject, but as a means to connect with our past and communicate effectively in today’s globalized world.

I hope families who celebrated Holi at home had a joyous and colourful Holi!

Let's continue to cherish and promote the Hindi language in our hearts and homes.
