The Baimbridge House athletics carnival was run on the 15th March with glorious weather. With a venue change to Mitchell Park as Pedrina Park was undergoing upgrades, it was a perfectly set up venue.

71 Baimbridge students headed down to Nelson Park in Portland to compete in the GD Athletics. Students represented the school in almost every event.
Some outstanding efforts for the day were the following students listed below that will commence through to the Greater Western Region Athletics in Ballarat that is held early in Term 4.

Glenelg District Swimming
The Glenelg District Swimming was held at the Portland YMCA this year. 32 students made their way down to compete. We had some impressive results:
Dom Hoggard
Brennan MacDonald - 1st in 12-15 Boys 200m Freestyle,
Archie Dahl - 1st in the 12-15 Boys 100m Freestyle, 1st in the 12-14 Boys 50m Butterfly, 12-13 Boys 50m Freestyle, 1st in the 12-13 Boys 50m Backstroke
Mitchell McKay - 1st in the 15 Boys 50m Freestyle, 1st in the 15 Boys 50m Backstroke
13 Year old Boys Freestyle Relay finished 1st

Archie, Dom, Mitchell, Harvey, Brennan, Zander have now qualified for the Regional Swimming Finals in Horsham on the 22nd March

State Championships Swimming
Congratulations to Dom Hoggard that represented Baimbridge at the School State Championships in Melbourne at the
Dom ended up taking home 4 gold medals in the 50m freestyle,50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and the 50m breaststroke and cant wait for the national titles in July on the Gold Coast.
Cross Country
Baimbridge Cross Country
In Term 2 we had a big focus on Cross Country, our the Baimbridge House Cross Country was held in beautiful conditions at Pedrina Park and the Bandicoot enclosure. Well done to Cuthbert for winning the points event.
Glenelg District Cross Country
The Glenelg District Cross Country event in Casterton quiet a rewarding day. The challenging course with changing track conditions and hills really tested the participants. It's impressive that Tara Baker managed to secure first place in the 18-20yo Girls category, demonstrating her trail running ability in the demanding terrain. Freddie Jury also deserves recognition for his strong performance, finishing third in the 13yo Boys category. And let's not forget about the rest of the squad who competed fiercely, showcasing their competitive spirit and representing the school with pride. Overall, it was a successful outing for Baimbridge’s cross country team.
Greater Western Region Cross Country
On the 27th of May we had a squad progress through to the Greater Western Region Cross Country in Warrnambool. Conditions for the day were perfect! We also had some really good results.
Congratulations to Tara Baker who came 6th and will compete at State level at the start of Term 3.
Term 3 is going to be very busy with lots of inter school on including; Netball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Clay Target Shooting and Cycling. Students need to pay close attention to COMPASS to sign up for events and to receive info about trainings etc..
