Message from the 

Director of  Learning

The term is almost over, and our Middle School students have done admirably. Attendance has remained consistent across the sub-school, as more and more parents, families and students recognise the importance of regular, high attendance. Every day at school matters, and missed days can quickly accumulate, having a significant impact on students’ learning and academic outcomes over time.

At Westall, our goal is to set high standards and high expectations. We are all in this together. This is our community, and our school is what we collectively make it. Let’s continue working together to make Westall the best possible school for our students and for future generations.

Regular attendance, engaging in parent-teacher conferences, maintaining contact with teachers, and ensuring students keep up with their studies may seem like small things, but together they can have an enormous impact on educational outcomes.

The year will continue to move very quickly. Before long, our Year 10 students will begin Head Start and take their first steps into their VCE journey. Our Year 9 students also have a big year ahead of them. The work will become more challenging and the responsibilities greater. This is a good thing. It is part of growing up, developing independence and preparing students for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Let us continue to raise expectations across our school community and encourage our young people to aim high, work hard and take pride in what they can achieve.
