Round 5 – St Fidelis v Pascoe Vale South

Our Year 5/6 students enjoyed another round of the Coburg District Winter Sport competition against Pascoe Vale South.

There were plenty of highlights across the day, with all teams displaying determination, teamwork and enthusiasm. A special congratulations goes to our Girls Netball and Girls Soccer teams, who celebrated impressive victories after outstanding performances filled with skill, communication and persistence.

Our Girls and Boys/Mixed AFL 9s teams competed with great energy and commitment, matching their opponents throughout the first half before eventually going down to strong Pascoe Vale South teams. The Boys/Mixed Soccer and Netball teams also demonstrated resilience and teamwork. Despite being defeated, they continued to work hard, support one another and compete positively until the final whistle.

While not every team came away with a win, every student should be proud of the way they represented St Fidelis. Their positive attitudes, encouragement of teammates, respect for opponents and officials, and commitment to fair play were outstanding throughout the day.

Congratulations to all students on your effort, sportsmanship and school spirit!

SSV Inner North/Merri-bek Division Cross Country Championships

On Wednesday 3 June, the SSV Inner North/Merri-bek Division Cross Country Championships were held at Banyule Flats Reserve, bringing together hundreds of talented runners from across the division for a day of exciting competition.

St Fidelis was proudly represented by Skyler in the 12 Years age group. Competing against a strong field of up to 60 runners, Skyler tackled the challenging 3-kilometre course with determination and grit, finishing in an impressive 30th place.

The demanding course tested the endurance of every competitor as it wound through the surrounding parklands before returning to the soccer fields for the finish. Throughout the race, Skyler displayed outstanding resilience, perseverance and a positive attitude, giving his best effort from start to finish.

Participating at this level is a significant achievement, and Skyler should be very proud of the commitment and determination shown on the day. His effort and willingness to embrace the challenge is a credit to him.

Congratulations, Skyler, on a fantastic performance and for representing St Fidelis so admirably.
