School Council

On behalf of School Council, I’d like to share an update from our May meeting, where we focused strongly on the work of our committees and the important role they play in supporting our school community.

Our Committees – What They Do

School Council is supported by several sub‑committees made up of staff and parent representatives. These groups help shape decisions, provide feedback, and drive key initiatives across the school.

Finance & Grants Committee — Oversees the school budget, monitors financial performance, and explores funding opportunities to ensure we remain sustainable while investing in priority areas.

Buildings & Grounds — Focuses on maintaining and improving our school environment, including current building works, playground planning, safety upgrades, and general site improvements.

Education Committee — Aligns teaching and learning priorities with key policy areas such as child safety, asthma, and anaphylaxis, ensuring our programs remain high‑quality and compliant with Department requirements.

Parents Association — Leads community events and fundraising initiatives that directly benefit students, from raffles and stalls to larger events like a Trivia Night.

These committees are a great way for parents to get involved and contribute to the direction of the school. If you’re interested in joining or would like more information, please contact School Council at 4819-schoolcouncil@schools.vic.edu.au

Community Engagement – State Election Candidates

We are pleased to be welcoming local candidates for the upcoming State Election to Monday night’s performance of our school production, including Nick McGowan (Liberal) and Rachel Halse (Labor).

This is a valuable opportunity for our school to engage with local representatives and showcase the strength of our community. Families are welcome to introduce themselves and we ask that all interactions remain respectful and appropriate to the school setting.

Thank You

A sincere thank you to all School Council members and committee/association representatives who volunteer their time. Your contribution plays a vital role in ensuring our school remains a safe, well‑managed, and engaging environment for all students.
