National Boarding Week

Merrin Shannon

This week marked National Boarding Week. The Boarders were involved in many activities across the week to celebrate the occasion.

Monday was National Boarders Day. Boarders created ‘A Day in the Life Video’ for assembly later in the year. We celebrated at dinner with a Boarders Lucky Dip.

Tuesday was Social Justice Tuesday. We have organised a fundraiser to buy a chicken, pig or duck to help students in Fiji with training and generating income for their training centre. We plan to organise other fundraisers throughout the year.

Wednesday was Wellbeing Wednesday and Principal Appreciation Day. Michelle organised a delicious dessert-making station and Mr and Mrs Rowe joined us for dinner. Afterwards the Boarding cohort retired to the Girls house to watch a movie with snacks and popcorn.

On Thursday the Boarders reflected on their parents’ contribution to their education and prepared an appreciation card for them.

On Friday the Boarding staff were given appreciation cards from the Boarders to show their gratitude for the important work they do.
