Welcome back to Term 2! The corridors are humming, the coffee machine is wheezing heroically, and everyoneโs diaries are filling fast. Below are some highlights from the term so far, as well as some important reminders about whatโs to come in Learning and Teaching.
Whatโs happened...
๐ Year 10 Careers Camp ๐
Our Year 10 students began the term on the road, exploring careers and pathways in Melbourne. Students returned energised and a little wiser about what life beyond Year 12 might look like โ thank you to every staff member who helped make the camp run smoothly. A special shout out to Mr Harms for organising the experience for our students.
๐ข Year 10 Work Experience ๐ข
Fresh from camp, those same intrepid Year 10 students swapped classrooms for workplaces across the region and beyond. We applaud their professionalism, appreciate staff that shepherded the paperwork and visited workplaces, and extend a warm thanks to the employers who offered guidance โ and sometimes biscuits โ along the way.
๐ฉ Cadet Camp ๐ฉ
Last week saw our cadets embark on another hallmark adventure. Ms Byron, Mrs Toffolon, and a dedicated team of student leaders upheld Monivae tradition with a camp that blended leadership, resilience, and camaraderie.
Whatโs to come...
โ๏ธ Practice GAT Writing Test โ Monday 2 June โ๏ธ
Periods 1 and 2, all Unit 3 & 4 VCE and VCE VM students will complete a practice Writing test in preparation for the actual GAT.
๐ General Achievement Test โ Tuesday 17 June ๐
All Unit 3 & 4 VCE and VCE VM student will complete the General Achievement Test on Tuesday, 17 June. The GAT is an important part of the VCAAโs external assessment process and quality control measures. The GAT validates literacy and numeracy standards and underpins the VCAA moderation process.
๐ Mid-Year Examinations ๐
Detailed timetables and revision guides will be distributed to all students close to the date.
๐ Save the Date โ Pathways Information Evening ๐
Families of students entering Years 9-12 in 2026 are invited to an information evening that explains subjects, pathways, and support services. More details to follow.
With camps now behind us and major assessments on the horizon, Term 2 promises plenty of momentum. Thank you for your ongoing support as we navigate lessons, assignments, and the daily fulcrum of school life โ always guided by Mind, Spirit, Heart.
