Assistant Principal - Middle School (Years 7 to 9)

As always, Middle School cohorts have had a very busy and productive term so far.

Years 8 & 9 Subject Selection

Students in Years 8 and 9 are now beginning to think about their subject selections for the 2027 school year. This is an important opportunity for students to explore their interests, strengths and future pathways.

We encourage families to take the time to discuss subject choices together at home. Students should also explore the information available on the Brunswick Secondary College curriculum website and subject handbooks to gain a clear understanding of the range of subjects and learning opportunities available. Thoughtful subject selection now can help students make informed decisions as they continue their learning journey.

Home Group Games

Our Year 7 students have been enthusiastically participating in the Home Group Games, bringing energy, teamwork and plenty of friendly competition to every event. Classes have competed in a variety of challenges including brainteasers, soccer shootouts, trivia and other fun activities, all earning valuable points for their Home Group.

At this stage, 7S has established a clear lead on the leaderboard, but with three more rounds to be held later this term, there is still plenty of time for the competition to heat up. We look forward to seeing which Home Group will be crowned the 2026 champions!

Year 7 Verbal Combat

Year 7 students are currently participating in an engaging external presentation, Verbal Combat. This interactive session focuses on respectful communication, conflict resolution and developing practical strategies for managing disagreements in positive and constructive ways. We know our students will gain valuable skills that will support both their learning and relationships.

Sporting Success

Our Middle School students continue to represent Brunswick Secondary College with pride at local and regional interschool sporting competitions. Their commitment, teamwork and sportsmanship have been outstanding.

A special congratulations goes to Katelyn, Solei, Lily and Attilia, who stepped up to play with the BSC Senior Girls Soccer team at the Regional Finals. The team achieved a fantastic victory and has now qualified for the State Finals. We wish the team the very best as they compete against the best schools in Victoria.
