Girls in Property
In late August, eight students participated in the Girls In Property immersion day run by the Property Council of Australia.
The day included a tour of the Victoria Gardens Property Precinct, an inside look at some business offices with insights into fit-out design, students walked onto a construction site wearing hard hats and high vis, there were panel discussions from women at the top of the property industry speaking about their job and how they found their way into their roles (fun fact, many of them didn’t achieve the ATAR they wanted but still made it to high levels in the industry), small group chats with women working in a variety of roles including centre management, project management, administration and more.
The day culminated in students completing a design project and pitch for a vacant block adjoining the Victoria Gardens site. And one of our students took away a prize of a Google Speaker just for asking some great questions!
The students were asked what they would say to students considering attending this excursion next year
“I would 100% encourage them to do it!”
“It’s really beneficial and will help a lot if you would like to get into property.”
“It’s a really fun experience and you can learn a lot of stuff from it that you didn’t know.”
“It opens your mind to all the different opportunities and options available to you.”
“It was a great day and super well run.”
We certainly hope the Property Council of Australia will be offering this program again in 2027!
