HAPPY HOLIDAYS GRADE 2 FAMILIES!!!!!!
It has been a HUGE term for the Grade 2 cohort! We have covered some serious ground in our learning, introduced a brand-new maths fluency routine and continued to build our phonics skills.
We also ventured to SPACE, learning all about the universe and what exists beyond Earth, and our students have absolutely thrived! We squeezed in school swimming, journeyed to Scienceworks, celebrated Book Week and performed our hearts out in the school production. Honestly, we’re tired just writing about it! And how could we forget the real challenge of the term… surviving the GERMS! Grade 2 was hit hard, but we made it out the other side (just!), armed with hand sanitiser, tissues and hopefully much stronger immune systems.
We couldn’t be prouder of our Grade 2 students and everything they have achieved this term. They have worked hard, embraced new challenges and packed an incredible amount into a very busy few months.
Now, bring on Term 4! We’re ready to finish off the year on a high… although perhaps with slightly fewer germs this time! 🤞

Getting a HEADSTART for Term 4!
In Term 4, our Maths focus will largely be on Fractions, Operations and Shape. We will continue building our multiplication fact fluency with a more intense focus on our fives and ten timestables. You might like to get your child practising these, as well as their zeros, ones and twos whilst driving or waiting around over the holidays!
We will be launching into fiction with a focus on narrative writing in Term 4. We would love for your families to enjoy these texts as a 'pre-load' before we launch into unpacking them in the coming weeks! Check them out below...
