Pi Day Celebration

On March 16th, Thornbury High School celebrated our annual Pi Day event that brought together a large crowd of enthusiastic students.

The event was filled with pi themed treats supplied by our Maths staff and the ever popular Pi Recitation Competition, where students had to memorise and recite as many digits of pi as possible.

The competition was highly competitive, but in an outstanding performance, Lina Deller of Year 8 set a new Thornbury High School record with an amazing 271 digits of pi. As a reward, Lina earned the opportunity to throw a pie in the face of Mr. Broadby, much to the amusement of the crowd.

We are already looking forward to next year’s celebration. Congratulations to all participants, and a big thank you to Mr Broadby and the other Maths staff for making the day a success.
