Introducing . . . Pixevity

Consent-driven photos

Smile – we have a new photo platform

St George's is pleased to share with our community the introduction of a consent-driven photo system that not only ensures best-practice management of student photos but also allows parents to access photos of their child taken by St George's staff at school events.

With ongoing media attention surrounding safety, privacy and responsible use of children’s images, St George’s Anglican Grammar School is committed to ensuring that student photographs are managed securely and in accordance with parent preferences.

Throughout the year, photographs of students are taken during classroom activities, excursions, sporting events and other school experiences. These images help us celebrate achievement, learning and participation. They may be used in school publications such as newsletters, the school website, social media channels and the yearbook, subject to parental consent.

To further strengthen the way we manage student photographs, St George’s is pleased to introduce Pixevety, a secure platform designed specifically for schools. Pixevety provides families with greater control over photo permissions whilst also helping the school ensure that images are shared appropriately and safely.

Pixevety uses image recognition technology to identify and organise photographs of students, allowing parental consent preferences to be automatically applied. Once registered, parents can securely access photographs of their own child through the platform.

Photographs from our Academic Awards Assembly and Interhouse Carnival held last week are already available through Pixevety, with more school events and activities being added as we cycle through Term Three.

We encourage all families to register with Pixevety and review their current photo permissions. By doing so, you can help us maintain the highest standards of student privacy and safety, while ensuring you have access to the treasured photographs of your child’s journey at St George’s.

How do I sign up?

All St George’s parents and guardians have been sent an invitation to sign on to Pixevity, plus submit their photo use preference. Please refer to these emails and send any queries to our IT Support Desk.  Thank you for your support as we continue to prioritise the wellbeing, privacy and safety of our students.
