A talented trio

The Creative Arts Department is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Jaya Chopra, Abi Jones and Archie van Helden, whose artworks were recently selected for inclusion in the prestigious 23rd annual St George’s Cathedral Art Exhibition.

Having work chosen for external exhibitions is a wonderful recognition of each student’s creativity, technical skill and commitment to their artistic practice. Their artworks were displayed alongside exceptional pieces from Year 10-12 students from across the state, showcasing the high standard of talent being developed within our school. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and congratulate them on representing our school with such distinction.

The exhibition also highlights the many exciting opportunities available to students studying Visual Art and Design here at St George’s. Through exhibitions, competitions and community partnerships, our students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop confidence and share their unique perspectives with a wider audience.

The Creative Arts Department continues to be a vibrant and inspiring place where students are challenged to think creatively, experiment with a wide range of media and develop valuable problem-solving and communication skills. Whether drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, textiles or digital design, our students are continually discovering new ways to express their ideas.

Congratulations once again to Jaya, Abi and Archie on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to celebrating many more creative successes as our students continue to make their mark both within our school and in the wider Arts community.

St George's Voices 

We had the privilege of participating in the ASA Conference Eucharist, joining more than 160 student singers from Anglican schools across Australia. The combined choir provided the music for the Eucharist attended by Anglican principals and chaplains from across the country.

St George's Voices sang beautifully as part of this impressive, massed choir. Performing in such a large ensemble was a wonderful musical experience, giving students the opportunity to collaborate with talented singers from other Anglican schools while contributing to a meaningful and uplifting service.

We are incredibly proud of the professionalism, enthusiasm and musicianship displayed by our Voices students throughout the event.

• 21 September – AngliSchools Secondary Choir Day
• Last day of term – Mandela Charity Day performances

We are also thrilled that many of our music students are involved in this year's school production of Mamma Mia! at the Regal Theatre. Whether performing on stage or contributing behind the scenes, their dedication and talent are sure to make the production a memorable experience. We encourage everyone in our school community to come along and support these outstanding students this weekend.
