Semester One Awards

 On Friday 24 July, we gathered to celebrates from across all year groups at our Semester One Academic Awards Assembly. It was wonderful to recognise the consistent effort and achievement demonstrated throughout the first semester of the 2026 academic year. As Dean of Teaching & Learning, this is always one of my favourite events on the school calendar.

I congratulate every student who received an award. I also encourage students who were not recognised in Semester One to set themselves the goal of working to the best of their ability so that their efforts may be celebrated at our Semester Two Academic Awards Assembly.

St George’s has adopted a new photo system which allows parents to access photos of their child – such as those taken at the awards assembly. Please read the What’s New? section of this newsletter and check your emails for Pixevity sign up details. 

Year 7 and 9 NAPLAN results

Schools have received individual student reports for the Year 7 and Year 9 2026 NAPLAN assessments. Your child’s results, together with an accompanying information sheet, were mailed to your nominated address this week.

For Year 9 families, further information regarding your child’s OLNA eligibility has also been provided in a report uploaded to SEQTA Learn and SEQTA Engage.

Year 10 Information Evening

On Thursday 23 July, we warmly welcomed Year 10 students and families to our Year 10 Information Evening. I sincerely thank everyone who attended for their participation and enthusiasm as students approach this significant milestone in their secondary school journey. We also completed our Year 10 subject selection interviews last week. We will now begin constructing the Year 11 2027 timetable and will advise students of their confirmed subject selections later this term.

Students and families who were unable to attend are encouraged to review the presentation delivered on the evening and the accompanying subject selection guide.

Year 7, 12 and New Student Parent–Teacher Interviews

Term Three parent–teacher interviews are fast approaching. We encourage families of all Year 7 and Year 12 students, as well as students in Years 8 to 11 who are new to our school community this term, to book their sessions promptly.

These interviews provide an important opportunity for students, families and teachers to discuss each student’s learning, progress and next steps. All students are strongly encouraged to attend and actively participate in these conversations.

For our Year 12 students, the interviews will support their final preparations for examinations and remaining assessments. For our Year 7 students, they provide an opportunity to reflect on their transition to secondary school and establish clear goals for a strong finish to their first year. 

The interviews will be held on Tuesday 18 August, from 12:30pm to 6:30pm. Bookings close on Sunday 16 August. An invitation and booking information have been sent to each family’s nominated email address.
