Secondary: Digital Technologies in Action at ICOM

Students at ICOM have embarked on an exciting journey through the world of Digital Technologies this year, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard creative software and production techniques. During Term 1, students explored the art of animation using Adobe Animate, where they transformed into “Mini Walt Disneys” as they discovered how professional animations are brought to life.

From brainstorming ideas and drawing storyboards to designing characters, creating scenes, and animating movement, students developed both their creativity and technical skills through an engaging, real-world learning experience.

In Term 2, students expanded their knowledge into the exciting field of video production. They learnt essential filmmaking concepts including script writing, camera angles, shot composition, A-Roll and B-Roll footage, and editing techniques.

Working collaboratively in production teams, students took on the roles of directors, script writers, editors, and actors, experiencing the full process of producing their own short films. Through these projects, students not only strengthened their digital literacy skills, but also developed confidence, teamwork, creativity, and communication skills reflective of real industry practices.
