Principal's Message

Words from the College Principal, Issue 3, Term 2, 2026.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh.

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Alhamdulillah, we have officially reached the halfway point of Term 2, and what a truly enriching and eventful term it has been so far. I am pleased to take this opportunity to reflect on the many meaningful experiences, exciting events, and important milestones our students and families have been part of across both our Primary and Secondary school.

ICOM's Annual Athletics Days took place early in the term and were an absolute highlight for students and staff alike. It was truly inspiring to witness our students represent their houses with such pride, energy, and sportsmanship. From the spirited house competitions that had everyone cheering intensity of the students and staff Tug of War. The days served as a wonderful reminder of the value of a healthy competitive environment, and it is our hope that this drive and sportsmanship will, Insha Allah, carry our students forward into the classroom and beyond.

Adding to the spirit of wellbeing, both our Primary and Secondary students had the wonderful opportunity to attend their respective School Sleepovers. Our Year 4 students enjoyed a memorable night right here on school grounds, filled with fun and lasting memories. Our Year 7 boys and girls similarly took part in their own sleepover experience, providing a fantastic opportunity to strengthen friendships and create cherished moments outside of the regular school day. It was wonderful to see our students come together in such a positive and joyful environment, Alhamdulillah.

Our Secondary school was bright with energy and creativity during Literacy and Humanities Week, a standout series of events in Term 2. The week began with our Secondary MasterChef competition, which brought out the culinary talents and friendly competitive spirit of our students in the most entertaining fashion. This was followed by our Business students running their very own successful Market Day stalls, and it was wonderful to see the effort and preparation our students poured into the experience. The week was brought to a memorable close with a Murder Mystery play performed by our very own staff and students, a delightful celebration of creativity in storytelling and literacy. I am incredibly proud of all involved in making Literacy and Humanities Week such a rich and rewarding experience.

Our Primary students had a beautiful opportunity to explore the importance of values and compassion through our Kindness Day. Students came dressed in their brightest pastel colours, and the day was filled with warmth, positivity, and a range of fun lunch events and activities, which were all thoughtfully designed to emphasise the importance of kindness in everyday life. It was truly wonderful to witness such genuine enthusiasm and care from our Primary students, and a beautiful reminder of the character we strive to nurture here at ICOM.

Our Secondary students were also treated to a special Wellbeing Breakfast. This was an occasion that provided a meaningful moment of pause and appreciation amidst a busy term. It is central to our vision at ICOM that our students feel valued and cared for, and moments such as these go a long way in creating a supportive school culture.

Throughout the term, our students have also participated in a wonderful range of excursions and incursions that have brought learning to life beyond the classroom. Our Secondary debating team has been representing ICOM with great distinction, demonstrating confidence and critical thinking. I am incredibly proud of the standard with which they have represented our school.

Year 3 Primary students took part in the engaging Mad About Science incursion, while our Foundation students embarked on the imaginative Dream City incursion. Additionally, our Foundation and Year 6 students have continued to nurture their special Buddies relationship, sharing in meaningful experiences that reflect the warmth and sense of community that defines our Primary school here at ICOM.

As the term progresses, our Secondary students have commenced their end of semester examinations, marking an important milestone in their academic journey. We acknowledge that this is a demanding period, and we want our students to know that they are fully supported every step of the way. I commend all students for the focus and resilience they continue to demonstrate. May Allah (SWT) grant them clarity of mind, ease in their efforts, and reward their hard work abundantly.

As I reflect on all that has already been achieved this term, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for our students, staff, and families. I am confident that the remainder of the term will continue to be engaging and full of opportunities for learning and growth, Insha Allah.

May Allah (SWT) grant our students continued success in their learning, guide them in applying their knowledge with intention and purpose, and bless them with joy and growth in every experience to come.
