Y10: Mentor Practical Workshops

Our Year 10 Mentors recently took part in the Mentor Practical Workshop incursion, an incursion designed to prepare them for their role as Peer Leaders for Year 7 students.

The session focused on building leadership confidence, communication skills, empathy, teamwork, and practical facilitation strategies.

Students explored different leadership and interaction styles, reflected on the importance of active listening and clear communication, and considered how they can support Year 7 students as they transition into secondary school.

Through discussion and hands-on activities, they practised problem-solving, co-leading, asking effective questions, and helping all group members feel included.

The workshop was a valuable opportunity for our Peer Leaders to develop the skills and confidence needed to guide, encourage, and support younger students. We look forward to seeing them lead with empathy, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility

throughout the year.
