We are excited to share some fantastic news from our Student Voice Team regarding our recent fundraising efforts!
During the Athletics Carnival, our dedicated student leaders organised a BBQ that was a tremendous success. Thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of our team, we raised an impressive $610.05! This money will be donated to Carrie's Place, a local charity that has been providing the Maitland area a range of culturally appropriate services for people experiencing domestic and family violence, and/or homelessness area since 1979. Carrie’s Place also provides a range of services to vulnerable people to support recovery and build resilience. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed by purchasing food, and to our volunteers who helped run the BBQ.
In addition, we hosted Pirate Day to support the Kids Cancer Project, which raised $177 despite the short notice. It was wonderful to see so many students getting into costume and showing their support for this important cause.
A big CONGRATULATIONS to Lidell McCosker who won best dressed pirate!
Soon we will be taking nominations for new students to be part of the Student Voice Team. By being part of the Student Voice Team, you can develop leadership skills, learn about advocacy, and gain a better understanding of how their school operates all whilst helping your school community! Students can self nominate; however, teachers also have the power to nominate students who may not realise their full potential yet.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their efforts and generosity and look forward to planning many more events this year!
Thank You
