"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,

It has been a hands-on and vibrant term in the TAS Department, with students diving into exciting projects that showcase both their creativity and practical skills.

Year 8 Technology Mandatory – Textile Artistry in Action

Our Year 8 students have been exploring the fascinating world of textiles this term. Through a series of engaging practical lessons, students have learned and applied a range of decorative techniques including stencilling, tie dyeing, and marbling. These activities have encouraged creative expression while developing valuable skills in fabric design and manipulation. The end results are as colourful and unique as the students themselves, with each piece reflecting individual flair and thoughtful technique. We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and the enthusiasm they’ve brought to each lesson.

Year 9 Food Technology – Cooking Up a Storm

In the Year 9 Food Technology classroom, students have been busy creating mouth-watering dishes that not only taste amazing but also demonstrate their growing knowledge of food preparation and presentation. One of the highlights has been the ever-popular Milo whoopie pies. These sweet treats allowed students to practise baking skills, follow detailed recipes, and gain confidence in the kitchen. It’s been wonderful to see their pride in the finished products—and to smell the delicious results wafting through the TAS block!

We look forward to seeing what our creative and capable students produce next as they continue their journey through Technology and Applied Studies.
