Primary: STEM Week

The final week of Term 3 was filled with curiosity, creativity and discovery as our Primary students celebrated STEM Week under the theme “Seeds of Science, Roots of Faith.”
Throughout the week, students from Foundation to Year 6 had opportunities to explore STEM through engaging incursions, hands-on activities, challenges and classroom learning.
The incursions were particularly enjoyable for our students and provided creative and interactive experiences that extended their knowledge and allowed them to see STEM concepts in new and exciting ways.
Each experience connected meaningfully with our theme, encouraging students to explore, question and appreciate the world around them.
Students also participated in a range of STEM activities during lunchtime, including building challenges, designing a city, balloon rockets and scientific experiments. These activities encouraged students to work collaboratively, think creatively and develop their problem-solving skills while having fun.
The theme “Seeds of Science, Roots of Faith” provided an opportunity to connect our students’ natural curiosity with their faith. As they explored, questioned and investigated, students were encouraged to appreciate the complexity, order and beauty of Allah’s creation and to recognise the importance of seeking knowledge.
It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and creativity our students demonstrated throughout STEM Week. More than simply learning about STEM, students had opportunities to experience it, experiment with it and enjoy the process of discovering something new.
I hope STEM Week planted seeds of curiosity, nurtured a love of learning and strengthened our students’ roots in faith.
