Division Athletics
Last Friday we had a team of 17 students who competed at Divisional level in the Athletics competition at Duncan McKinnon. This was a BIG team with many talented students all vying for a 1st or 2nd ribbon.
There was some extremely hard competition on the day and many of the athletes have private coaching or do-Little Aths outside of school hours giving them a huge advantage. All of our students play many sports outside school but not many train specifically for Aths.
Our students that competed were:
Sophie T- 200m (6th)
- Issy D– 200m (3rd) and 1500m (2nd)
- Olivia N- 1500m and 800m (mid field)
- Issy H– Hurdles (10th)
- Claudia McG- Hurdles (1st) and 100m (3rd)
- Ada S – High Jump (equal 1st)
- Averie L- High Jump (equal 5th)
- Alexandra M Long Jump (13th)
- Micah H- Long Jump (4th) and Shot Put (8th)

Of our 17 students, 5 of our girls will now go on to compete at the next level. Congratulations to Ada S, Eliza N, Mia K, Claudia M and Issy D on finishing 1 or 2 in their individual events and relay team race.
The 5 girls will go on to compete next Wednesday 18 October at Casey Athletics Track. The BNPS community wish you all the best of luck on the day.
Special thanks to Mr Farmer who manned the Discus event for the day and to Mrs Lee and Mrs Hall who looked after the team on the day.
