Creating Futures Together

Thankyou to all the families and friends who came to our School Production - High School Musical and well done to all students who were involved!

The number of students playing in our Production Band now well outnumbers the adults, so a huge congratulations to Alex Nash (Yr 11 – Bass Guitar – and winner of the Production Band award), Kaylee Hamilton (Yr 11 – Guitar), Adriano Riveri (Yr  9 – Guitar), Milan Stevanovic ( Year 9  - Keyboard) and Tawana Chishava (Year 9 - Percussion) on your effort and commitment in learning your parts and coming together so well as a band.

Also, a big thankyou to Musical Director Damien Ryles who has spent a significant amount of time helping prepare these students. We are indebted once again to Matthew Foo (Drums - Pre Service teacher at Wheelers Hill in 2022 and current Maths/Accounting Teacher at Vermont SC) who does an outstanding job for us on the drum kit!

Production may be over, but we are now preparing for the following events:

  • Beginner Concert Band Lunchtime Concert – Tuesday July 1st
  • Choir Incursion – Thursday July 24th- Periods 1 - 4
  • Winter Concert – Monday July 28th – D01 – 7 – 9pm (featuring all School Ensembles)
  • VSMF Choir Section – Tuesday 5th August
  • Stage Band Incursion – Monday 11th August
  • VSMF Junior Jazz Ensemble Section – Monday 8th September

Our next major event is the Winter Concert, which will feature all of our School Ensembles. We encourage friends and family of our ensemble members to purchase tickets for the Winter Concert through the TryBooking link here.

The Choir and Stage Band will be heading to the Victorian School Music Festival in Term 3, so our planned incursions will provide us with valuable rehearsal time to prepare for these performances.

Please check Compass for the events where your child/ren are involved, and ensure that permission is given in a timely manner.

VCE Music Performance Recital

On Tuesday 24th July, our VCE Music students presented their Unit 1 recitals to an audience of family and friends in D01. The evening was a wonderful display of talent and a chance for students to share the progress they’ve made through dedicated work this semester. Each student continues to grow in their musicianship and improve with every performance. Congratulations to our Year 11 Music class!
