Student Voice Council

By Maryam Rodd

The Student Voice Council (SVC) plays a vital role in making our school a better place for everyone. This group is made up of students who meet regularly to discuss ideas, plan events, and ensure that everyone's voice is heard. The SVC encourages participation and values the opinions of all students, helping to create a more inclusive environment.

SVC meetings are held every fortnight and are open to all students. During these meetings, members share updates on ongoing projects, discuss new ideas, and plan future events. Everyone is encouraged to express their thoughts and suggestions. This collaborative approach ensures that the council represents the diverse interests of the student body.

The meetings are not just about planning; they also serve as a platform for students to develop leadership skills. Members learn to work together, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively. These skills are essential for their future, both in school and beyond.

One of the most exciting events planned by the SVC is Footy Day. The planning for this event has begun. This event aims to celebrate sports and community spirit. Scheduled for later in term 3, Footy Day will feature fun activities and a festive atmosphere. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various sports, showcasing their talents and teamwork.

To make this event successful, the SVC is asking for gold coin donations from students and families. These contributions will help cover the costs of organizing the activities and ensuring that everyone has a memorable day. Every coin counts, and your support is greatly appreciated!

The SVC believes that events like Footy Day foster a sense of community and belonging among students. It’s a day where everyone can come together, have fun, and celebrate their school spirit.

By participating in SVC activities and events, students not only contribute to their school community but also develop skills that will benefit them in the years to come. So mark your calendars for Footy Day, bring your gold coins, and get ready for a day filled with fun and friendship!
