Principal's Desk

Dear Warrandyte High School Community

Welcome to another edition of the Warrandyte High School Gang Gang iNewsletter for 2025. It is with a tremendous sense of pride that I write this newsletter entry as the substantive Principal of Warrandyte High School. I would like to thank the WHS community for the kind words I have received since the announcement of my appointment.

Term 2 has been another busy and productive term. As I write this entry our Year 9-12 students are embarking on their Semester 1 exams. Our Year 12 VCE and VM students, and students completing a Unit 3-4 subject are sitting the General Achievement Test (GAT). Students are always encouraged to strive for our school value of Excellence when undertaking exams.

These exams will provide students with an accurate understanding of their level of academic knowledge and development. They help foster a greater sense of resilience and perseverance. The exam period at its heart encapsulates the level of ‘Growth’ students achieve. More specifically for our senior students, they provide greater clarity around preparation for post-school pathways, whether this be further study or career entry. I wish all students the very best throughout the week.

While we at times shiver through the colder months of the year, it is important to remain warm by only wearing our WHS uniform. Wearing the full school uniform activates a sense of belonging and pride, while strengthening school identity in the community. Students have the choice of wearing either the full academic or Physical Education uniform. We have a range of uniform items designed to keep students warm and dry. Breach of our student dress code policy may lead to Year Level Coordinator follow up and potential consequence.

The final week of term sees our Year 9 and Year 10 students experience two key highlights of the year and their secondary schooling journey. All Year 9 students will participate in City Experience and our Year 10 cohort will complete their week of Work Experience. Across the week I know all students will embody the school values and represent the school with pride.

As we approach the end of the term, I would like to thank everyone for their continued contribution to making Warrandyte High School an ever-improving place to learn and thrive. I hope the upcoming break provides all members of our school community with a chance to rest, recharge and return ready for an exciting Term 3.
