School Saving Bonus - Important information 

Some SSB funds unavailable in July and August - unless you take action before June 30th

What do I need to do?

Go into the SSB (School Saving Bonus) Portal and reallocate any remaining SSB funds to 'Activities'. Instructions on accessing the SSB Portal are in the original email you received from the Dept about SSB (one email for each child).

You must complete this action before June 30th

Why do I need to do it?

School Saving Bonus (SSB - the $400 from the Department) can be in one of two "modes":

1. Textbooks/Uniforms - for use only at the uniform shop (PSW)
2. Activities - for use on school activities (camps, excursions & incursions)

Be default all SSB starts in Textbooks/Uniforms mode.The ability to use it at the uniform shop is ending on June 30.

In July and August all SSB in Textbooks/Uniforms mode will be unavailable while the Department goes through all family accounts and converts the remaining SSB to Activities mode.

You will not have access to these funds to use on school excursions in July and August.

However, you can go into the SSB Portal before June 30th and do a manual reallocation of these funds to Activities mode(in increments of $50 only). If you do this these funds will be available to you in July and August (and beyond) for use on camps, excursions and incursions.

How do I use SSB for excursions and camps?

SSB (School Saving Bonus) is not (yet) available as an option in Compass to pay for events. If you wish to use it for an event, please send an email to hillsmeade.ps@education.vic.gov.au and specify the student and event to which you wish to apply SSB. We will reply via email to confirm that it has been applied.
