I cannot believe we are already half way through the year!! Next term is only a 9 week term, which will go by so quickly and before we know it we will be heading to the end of the year!
A big thank you to all of our staff, students and community for making Term 2 such a positive experience for everyone. Make sure you stay warm during this winter break!!
A reminder that the last day of Term 2 is a 2.30pm dismissal time.
OSHC provider TeamKids will be available from that time. They will also offer a holiday care program during the term break.
The table below outlines the concern that can occur if children have lengthy absences, starting from Grade Prep! The decisions we make now for our children can impact greatly on their future and success in education. Please consider carefully when you permit your child to stay home. We are very understanding that with illness and family circumstances students may not be able to attend at times, but we encourage students to please be at school on a regular basis.
WOW!! What a crazy, fun and uplifting experience this was for everyone! I am so proud of our Year 6 students and the work they have put in to make such successful businesses. We saw some amazing activities, tasted some delicious treats and were effectively persuaded to go and experience the varied business ideas. A huge congrats to the Year 6 teaching team for helping our students put together such a wonderful day. A big thanks also to the school community for their support of this enormous project!
Reports will be available via Compass on Friday 4th July.
As you know, this year Hillsmeade is in our review, that occurs every four years. In term one we asked for family feedback and as a part of that you had the opportunity to put your name forward to be in the feedback groups to assist with the review. The date for these groups will be Thursday 7th August. So stay tuned for your invite!!
We were lucky to have a tiny snapshot of the 5/6 student production of Madagascar Jnr at assembly last week. If that performance is anything to go by, we are in for an absolute treat for the real show in August!
Tickets will go on sale next week, so keep your eye on Compass for details. Tickets will be available through the Bunjil Place booking system, not via the school.
We can't wait to see our talented performers on the real stage!!
With Mr Harrison taking some extended leave, we have been able to appoint staff into acting leadership roles for semester 2. A big congratulations to Bryce Turvey who will be Learning Specialist of whole school Teaching and Learning - out of the classroom full time. We also congratulate Alex Hope who has been appointed to Acting Learning Specialist for English, working outside of the classroom two days a week.
There may be some adjustments to class teachers due to these changes, however we will keep all families affected updated of these changes where necessary.
