Dear Parents and Carers,

This Sunday, 29th March, we celebrate Palm Sunday, an important occasion in our Church calendar as we begin Holy Week.

Palm Sunday remembers Jesus’ joyful entry into Jerusalem, where people welcomed Him by waving palm branches. It is a time for us to reflect on themes of peace, hope, and following Jesus in our daily lives.

We warmly invite all families to join our parish community for Mass this Sunday. Your presence is a wonderful way to support your child’s faith journey and to come together in prayer as a community. We look forward to seeing many of our families there.

Thank you, Peace Pole Ceremony

A sincere thanks to our school community,  our staff, families, and especially our students, for making last week’s Peace Pole ceremony such a meaningful and memorable occasion. A special thank you to the Rotary Club for their support and presence, which made the event truly special for our school. I was very proud of the way the students participated with reverence, joy, and respect, reflecting the strong spirit of our community.  As we continue our journey together in faith, we are reminded of the words Jesus shared with us  Peace be with you.

Year 3  Reconciliation Celebration

Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last week. This is a special step in their faith journey, and we are very proud of the reverence and understanding they showed. A  sincere thank you to our teachers for their thoughtful preparation of the students, ensuring they were ready for this important sacrament. A special thank you to Fr Brendan and Fr Tien for leading such a meaningful and prayerful celebration.

Principals Conference - March 24th -March 27th

I would like to let you know that I will be attending the Principal Conference in Lorne this week. This conference brings together Catholic Primary School Principals from across Victoria for professional learning, reflection, and collaboration. It focuses on strengthening leadership, deepening our faith, and enhancing our ability to support student learning and wellbeing within our school communities. It is a valuable opportunity to gather new ideas, share best practices, and continue to grow in my role as a leader of our school. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Easter Egg and gift donations

Thank you to our wonderful school community for your generous donations of Easter eggs and items for our Easter Raffle. Your support has been overwhelming, and thanks to you, we have plenty of fantastic prizes for our students to enjoy. We look forward to drawing the raffle on Friday, 27th March at assembly. This is always an exciting occasion! Thank you again for your kindness and support.

Centenary Planning – Thank You & Looking Ahead!

A big thank you to everyone who joined our first Centenary Planning Meeting. It was wonderful to come together and begin planning for the celebration of 100 years of our school community.

We spent time reflecting on the rich history of our school, founded in 1927, and shared ideas about how we can honour the past, celebrate the present, and create lasting memories for our students and families.

There was great excitement and many fantastic ideas, including:

  • A community fete
  • A gala celebration event
  • Student performances such as “Dancing Through the Decades”
  • A special Mass and school celebration day
  • Creating a Year Book and storytelling projects to capture memories
  • A 100-year logo design competition
  • Opportunities for past students, families, and staff to share their stories
  • Inquire with the children about the school's past history

We also discussed forming small working groups to help bring these ideas to life, focusing on areas such as events, history, communication, and community engagement.

This is just the beginning, and we would love more parents, past families, and community members to be involved. Your ideas, skills, and support will help make this celebration truly special.  We look forward to sharing more updates and welcoming new participants at our next meeting! Monday, July 20th 7:00 pm.

Thank you for being part of this exciting journey.

Creative Arts Awards – Thank You

Thank you to all the children and families who attended the Creative Arts Awards. While only a few students could represent our 2025 Foundation cohort, all contributed to the wonderful artwork celebrated on the day.

Your support made the occasion even more special. Well done to our students for proudly showcasing their creativity, and a special thanks to Joe for his support in making the day a success.
