Year 4 News

We have come to the end of a wonderful term, and what a fantastic week it has been for 4ZK.

On Friday, we celebrated our assembly and would like to congratulate all students on their efforts, enthusiasm, and participation. It was a truly memorable day, with students confidently sharing their learning and demonstrating their skills in front of their peers and the wider school community.

As members of our faith community, we have reflected on St. Patrick’s Day and celebrated Catholic Education Week with the theme “Share your light and inspire others.” Throughout these activities, students explored their personal strengths and discussed meaningful ways to share their gifts and inspire those around them. It has been wonderful to see students consider how they can make a positive difference in the school and wider community.

As the holidays approach, students will be bringing home their goodies and baddies. Part of our focus at the end of term is encouraging students to continue practising their times tables over the break. Developing instant recall of times tables is an essential skill that supports almost every area of mathematics. We strongly encourage parents and carers to support their children in practising these regularly, as fluency in multiplication not only builds confidence but also prevents difficulties in more complex problem-solving in future learning.

We are looking forward to hearing about everyone’s Easter celebrations when Term 2 begins on Monday, 20th April. We hope that all families enjoy a safe, happy, and restful holiday period, filled with time for fun, reflection, and connection with loved ones.

Reminders:

  • Students will receive some Holiday Home Learning to prepare for Term 2. Throughout the holidays, we encourage you to continue reading with your child and listening to them read aloud. Additionally, supporting your children with practising their times tables.
  • Next term, our class novel will be Wongutha Tales- Bawoo and Badudu
  • Term 2 starts Monday 20th of April

Warm regards,

Vicky & Bianka
