Welcome to Week 9! We are now on Day 34 as we continue counting towards our 100 Days of School

This week, we enjoyed learning about St Patrick and why he is such an important figure. The students loved exploring his story and the traditions connected to this special day. We also had a wonderful catch-up with our Buddies, where we shared lunch and took part in some Irish dancing together. There were plenty of smiles and laughter, it was such a fun and special time for everyone!

As people of faith, our learning has focused on the events of Holy Week, beginning with Palm Sunday and Holy Thursday. Students explored these important events by using the “See, Think, Wonder” thinking routine. They carefully observed images, drew what they could see, and shared their thoughts and wonderings. It was fantastic to see their curiosity and thoughtful reflections as they deepened their understanding of these significant moments in the Church calendar.

The students have also been busy practising their singing for our upcoming liturgy on Monday 30th March at 2:45pm in the Church. Our Foundation students are very excited to be sharing songs for our first liturgy, centred around Palm Sunday as we move into Holy Week and the final week of term. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion together.

This week we are learning to…

Reading/Phonics: Link the sounds /i/ and /f/ to the letters i and f, and practise blending and segmenting the sounds m, s, t, a, p, i and f.

Writing: Write about things we have seen or done using our letter/sound knowledge.

Numeracy: describe the position and location of objects in relation to other objects within a familiar space.

Inquiry: Identify foods that are good and not so good for our bodies.

Religion: Describe the events of Holy Week (Good Friday).

TRP:  notice how others feel.

Wishing everyone a great week!
