Sports Prefect JAY KAPICA captures the day with his report below.
The 2025 ACC C Division Swimming Carnival was nothing short of incredible for the St George’s Dragons. Over the past few years we’ve been climbing the ranks, proving that hard work, resilience, and determination truly pay off. We started in I Division back in 2017, and with each passing year, we’ve fought our way up through the divisions. This year, we reached the big leagues, competing against much larger schools with up to three times our student population and we continued to punch above our weight every step of the way. As a school of just under 600 students, we’ve shown that size doesn’t define success and that we have a depth of talent and spirit.
While we didn’t secure the top spot this year, we fought valiantly to keep our position in C Division! Plus, we had some massive wins that made us really proud:
• Our Senior Girls took home the Champion Overall Aggregate Shield dominating the pool over the last 5 years as the team have moved through their school years. They are a big reason for our success in ACC swimming.
• Anouk Potter claimed the Girls U17 Age Champion title and smashed the Girls U17 50m Butterfly record with an incredible time of 29.32 seconds.
• Boston Kiely was crowned Boys U15 Age Champion, continuing our tradition of excellence and setting a high standard for years to come.
The energy poolside was electric, especially from our Year 12s, whose enthusiasm and support were next level. There wasn’t an official award for best cheer squad, but let’s be real—St George’s definitely took the crown in that department! Our chants and cheers were louder than ever and the Dragon spirit was felt by everyone in the pool.
A massive thank you to Ms Scheele and the entire sports department for their support, guidance and dedication. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Looking ahead to next year, we’re excited to continue building on our tradition of respect, compassion, integrity, and excellence. Now, it’s time for all of us to rally together and focus on taking the next step forward making sure St George’s is on the rise and the best is yet to come. Go Dragons!

And Ms Scheele says:
I am so proud of all the Swim Team. Some of you dug deep and had to rise above your nerves to FIND YOUR BRAVE and step onto the block and race. The Reserves are such a part of the team, and we had to call on a lot of you - thanks for being there! Some of the swimmers only had one race and one job to do but when they did, they gave it everything. Some of our swimmers are superstars and it was a pleasure to watch your streamlined strokes as you powered through the water. We are a small school and what our students achieved on the day was remarkable. Thanks for all your commitment and effort and your outstanding representation of our School! Many thanks to the parent and student officials for your support in filling our required roles.
Congratulations to the following students:
