As part of our pastoral program, we recently had some new visitors to the school - Internet Safe Education which provides tailored program for all age groups.
Year 7, 8 and 9 students attended a presentation on the dangers of social media that was age specific and the feedback from students and staff was very positive. I hope this generated some conversations at home.
This week it was also my privilege to attend the ACC Swimming Carnival and for a relatively small school we certainly held our own. Two champion swimmers is a testament to hard work and preparation. The competition at Perth High Performance Centre was fierce – congratulations to the HPE team and all of our swimmers and supporters. Thanks also to the parents that attended as part of ‘The Dragons’ cheer squad.
Our Inclusive Education department is very much at the heart of the school - a dedicated team who support the students who have specific educational needs. Since my last article we have said goodbye to educational assistant Monica Davies, who is now formally a teacher after finishing her training. Such a valuable role needs to be filled, and I am delighted to welcome Carla Moore to the team. Carla is an experienced educational assistant and will, I am sure, slot seamlessly into the department. Please do ask your child about Mrs Moore and her support of them.
Looking ahead to Gandhi House Charity Day on the last day of term and Miss Perejmibida and House Captain Rory Bingham have been working hard in the background to plan the event, which this year includes a barbecue afterwards. All proceeds this year will support Anglicare’s Thread Together program, so please be sure to book a place in this special event. Bookings to be involved in Gandhi Colour Run must be made before the event. https://www.trybooking.com/CZZUO
