Laughs, Leaps and Lots of Physical Comedy

Our Year 7 Drama students have been diving headfirst into the world of physical comedy — and the results have been hilarious. From exaggerated facial expressions to perfectly timed comedic pause, students have been building their scenes step by step, learning how to use their bodies to tell stories and make their audiences laugh.

Each group has brought their own creativity and energy to the rehearsal room, working together to craft comedic moments that grow more polished with each run. We can’t wait to see where their funny bones take them next!

About the show:

Section 1: Interhouse Drama Performance

Students will be upskilled in a variety of challenges and will compete head-to-head in three rounds, aiming to be crowned the best theatrical house.

Section 2: Interhouse Dance Performance

After weeks of practice, students will perform choreography that reflects a certain theme in the hope of securing the title of the best dance house. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that this year’s festival will include performances from the new ATAR Dance course, the Middle School Dance Company and our Year 7 & 8 Dance classes.

Perspectives at The Maj

Year 10-12 Drama & Dance students attended the annual Performing Arts Perspectives showcase at His Majesty's Theatre.

Many commented on how effective and motivating it was to witness such a standard of artistry live and to see firsthand what they are striving to achieve in their own training. This experience provided valuable insights and support for their continued growth in the performing arts.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this excursion such a memorable and enriching experience. We look forward to more opportunities for our students to engage with live performances and continue to be inspired by the professional arts world!
