Health & Physical Education

Health and Physical Education.

We continue to be impressed by the energy, enthusiasm, and skill development that our students have been displaying.

In Physical Education, our Year 7 to 9 classes have continued to excel in their unit on Invasion Games.

One particular highlight has been our lessons playing Touch Rugby.

Students seem to enjoy the team discipline required to move the ball with an organised method. They also seem to enjoy the challenge of quickly changing from attacking strategy to defensive strategy.

Our Physical Education program also gives students abundant opportunities to develop their leadership skills.

As the year progresses, we see that students develop the confidence and skills required to lead their peers.

Many are so comfortable in leadership that they can actually lead a lesson for their teacher.

Leadership development is an important part of what we do and is also recognized each semester on student reports.

Other recent highlights have included our excellent performance at interschool athletics.

The PE staff have placed increased emphasis on athletics in the last 2 years, and this has resulted in an increasingly successful interschool athletics team.

We now have a small team about to head to Regional Athletics.

We have even inspired some students to join their local Athletics Club.

Our students also continue to engage productively in their Health lessons.

Year 7 students have been a highlight as they continue to develop knowledge of the dimensions of health and the stages of life.

We still have plenty of fun ahead. As the weather improves, we will increasingly use outdoor spaces for learning and we take this opportunity to remind students and families that exercise outdoors (including PE lessons) requires you to wear sunscreen and carry a water bottle.

Stay active
