Celebrating the end of another great term!
It has been a vibrant and rewarding second half of Term 3.
Our students have thrown themselves into a wide variety of challenges, both within and beyond the classroom, demonstrating talent, and community spirit that makes Scoresby Secondary College such a special place.
STEM and Real-World Excellence
Our 2026 Hydrogen Car team delivered an outstanding performance at the recent National Toyota World Hydrogen Challenge.
Our team led the field for almost the entire day, narrowly dropping the lead with only a few laps to go. Event organisers were so thoroughly impressed by our students' technical performance and teamwork that they are currently working to create a special entry for them in the world finals to be held in Prague next year!

In another real-world challenge, a group of our high-achieving students participated in the Coca-Cola challenge, where they were tasked with solving a genuine business problem set by Coca-Cola executives. Not only did our students rise to the occasion, but the executive panel was so impressed by one of their recommendations that they voted our team the overall winners and have moved to adopt their proposal!

Knox Division Group Athletics
Our school athletics champions proudly represented Scoresby Secondary College at the Group Athletics, competing against top athletes from surrounding schools.

Our team performed brilliantly, punching well above their weight to place Scoresby closely behind much larger neighbouring schools.
Arts & Outdoor Education Highlights
A few weeks ago, our college community gathered for our inaugural Instrumental Music Soiree. It was fantastic to see so many families and staff in attendance celebrating the incredible talent of our student performers.
The evening showcased a wonderful spectrum of musical growth—from beginners playing their very first notes to advanced, highly polished recitals.
A special thank you to our instrumental music team—Ms Eastwood, Mr Leahy, Mr Long, and College leader Adam Du, for their dedication, guidance, and ongoing encouragement. Congratulations to every student who took the stage! If your child is interested in learning an instrument, please encourage them to speak with one of our music staff.
Our first Mt Buller Snowboarding Camp was also highly successful. The feedback from mountain staff regarding our students’ behaviour, positive attitudes, and eagerness to learn was very complementary.
Instructors specifically noted their grit and determination as they mastered new skills across ever-changing alpine conditions. Thank you to Ms DeBoer and Mr Ridgeway for making this memorable experience possible.
On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September, I had the absolute privilege of sitting in the audience for our first college production in many years: Peter Pan. It was terrific to see students from Year 7 through to Year 12 collaborate so seamlessly to put on a smooth, and well-choreographed play.
Congratulations to all students, cast, and crew for their professionalism and mutual support throughout the run.

Looking Ahead
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to our students, staff, parents, and carers for your support during my time as Acting Principal.
Working together, we have listened and adjusted our programs to reflect student, staff, and parent voice; broadening opportunities and refining learning underlined by evidence-based best practice.
Following a recent recruitment process, I am deeply honoured and humbled to advise that I have been appointed as the substantive Principal of our school. I look forward to working even more closely with our entire community as we strive to maximise daily growth for all our students, regardless of their starting point, aptitudes, or interests. Thank you once again for your trust, encouragement, and ongoing partnership.
