Year 11 Literacy and Numeracy – Road to Zero Exhibition
Our Year 11 VCE VM students recently visited the Road to Zero Education Complex at Melbourne Museum as part of their Literacy and Numeracy studies.
The exhibition provided students with an engaging and interactive opportunity to explore road safety, risk-taking, decision-making and the impact of road trauma.
Students applied their Literacy skills by analysing road safety messages, considering how information is communicated to different audiences and discussing ways to advocate for safer choices.
The experience also connected strongly with Numeracy, with students interpreting statistics, data and real-world information relating to road trauma and road safety in Victoria.
The excursion provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning with a real-world issue that will become increasingly relevant as they prepare to become drivers and road users.
Year 11 PDS – Building Community
Our Year 11 VCE VM students have been exploring the importance of community and intergenerational connections through a range of hands-on activities and partnerships with the local community.
Students worked alongside students from Boronia K-12 College and Bayswater Secondary College to plan and deliver activities for Grade 3 and 4 students at Boronia K-12. They also visited Waterford Retirement Village, where students connected with residents through lawn bowls, technology support sessions and “getting to know you” activities.
These experiences provided students with valuable opportunities to develop their communication, teamwork, leadership and interpersonal skills, while learning about the experiences and perspectives of people from different generations. Most importantly, students saw first-hand how building positive relationships and contributing to the community can create meaningful connections for everyone involved.
Year 12 VCE VM – Mini Olympics Fundraiser
Our Year 12 VCE VM students are busy preparing to host a Mini Olympics fundraiser on 20 October, with students from across all year levels invited to participate.
The event will provide our Year 12 students with an exciting opportunity to put their teamwork, leadership, communication and organisational skills into action. Students will plan and run a range of fun activities and challenges, while raising funds towards their goal of establishing a student-run café in 2027.
You’ll find all the details about the fundraiser on Compass. We’d love for our school community to get involved and support our VCE VM students as they work towards opening a student-run café in 2027!

Preparing for the Future
Our Year 11 and 12 VCE Vocational Major students have been developing valuable skills and confidence as they prepare for life beyond school.
Through Work Related Skills Units 2 and 4, students have explored their strengths, interests and capabilities and considered how these connect to future employment and career opportunities. Students have completed practical activities including developing professional resumes, preparing job applications and participating in interview preparation.
A key focus has also been the development of personal portfolios, where students have selected evidence showcasing their achievements, skills, knowledge and experiences. This has encouraged students to reflect on their strengths and the qualities they can bring to the workplace.
It has been fantastic to see students becoming more confident in presenting themselves professionally and taking greater ownership of their future pathways.
These authentic experiences are helping prepare our students for employment, further education and training, while building the skills and confidence needed for their next chapter.
