Book Week

Monday 21st August - Friday 25th August

Miners Rest Primary School will be celebrating Book Week 2023 from Monday August 21st – 25th.

We ask that students, if they wish, dress up on Monday 21st August as a favourite book character for a parade in the gymnasium at around 9:10am. Parents are most welcome to attend.

Students are asked to bring along to school for the week, their favourite book. Please ensure this book is clearly named. The children will have a chance to share their book with their classmates.

Students in years F-2 will receive a visit from local author Elyse Hunt on Tuesday 22nd August. Please see the article in this week’s newsletter for more information on this event and how to purchase a copy of her book ‘Astrid’s Big Day’.

Part of our celebration will involve story time sessions in the library during lunchtime, with stories read by staff and interested community members. We would love to hear from any parents, relatives or friends who would be willing to join us to read their favourite children’s book to the students. Please contact your child’s teacher to register your interest.

Book Week experiences will be photographed throughout the week and presented as a power point at our next whole school assembly.
